IRCALC
- International Research Council on African Literature
and Culture
IRCALC is the web based council
of writers, scholars and researchers around the
world with common interest in
African studies,
particularly the literature, arts and cultures of
Africa and her Diaspora. IRCALC editors also see to
the regular volumes of the journals of Critical
Studies (CS), African Literature (JAL) and New
Poetry (NP).
For
years IRCALC initiatives in research in African literature
with member organizations, college departments, libraries and individuals
across the Diaspora
have provided information, ideas, and research that enrich understanding of Africa's rich and diverse cultural
heritage .
Membership cuts across race and
nationality and embraces scholars committed to a more imaginative approach to Africa's
development issues. CS, JAL and NP journal publications are available online
or by subscription. Individual and institutional members
also receive regular reviews and newsletters of
the organisation.

Membership entitles you to
receiving copies of JAL-ALJ and regular
publications of IRCALC. You could also become
eligible to join the IRCALC Team of Scholarly
Reviewers who bring new and existing books on
African literature and culture to public readership. Sustaining members'
List is updated in the
IRCALC Newsletter/Directory.

Send an abstract or
synopsis of your research paper for
consideration. We welcome text or
book reviews, book news and publication
information, photographs, drawings,
recordings of art and artistic
impressions, music, films and
translations of foreign language
materials, et cetera. Original language
may be in English or French. Other
foreign languages should be accompanied
with English translations.

Be a partner and actively
support our research team effort. Team
members are welcome to send their ideas
and suggestions. As writers and
scholars we also welcome useful
information from allied agencies/ organisations for continuing
development of the African literary
project.
